General treatment generally lasts around 6-12 weeks and consists of a one hour Initial Consultation & weekly hour long therapy sessions. This length of time is usually sufficient to see a marked difference in the wellbeing of our clients, indeed most clients report a huge change in mood after the first session. In some cases where the issue is more complex, deep-rooted or there is a variety of concerns, it can take longer for the treatment to be completed but this will be discussed during the Initial Consultation.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can be used to treat a wide range of concerns, we offer general sessions to cover these issues as they all have the same roots in the brain and often we see clients presenting a multitude of these issues alongside each other.

Sessions cost £60 per 1 hour session for adults or £45 for 45minutes for 8-15 year olds

The most common issues we see our clients present with: depression, stressanxiety, anger, behavioural issues, trauma & PTSD, OCD, addiction, weight, sleep issues & chronic pain conditions.

This is by no means an exhaustive list. We can also help with a wide assortment of issues not listed above, if you have any questions feel free to contact us.

This is one of the most common concerns we see in our work, it affects many people of all ages, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds alike. We can help by teaching you the neurochemical responses related to depression, what causes us to fall into these depressive states and how we can alter the chemical balance within our brains so the symptoms are lessened, and often, completely subsided.

Although stress & anxiety present very differently they are caused by the same hormones within the brain, predominately cortisol. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is hugely effective at treating these concerns it teaches the client a greater understanding of the triggers for this chemical to be released, and how to produce more positive chemicals such as serotonin which actively combat the release of cortisol.

Behavioural problems have their roots in the same parts of the brain as many mental health concerns and are symptoms of the same chemical imbalances that cause stress, anxiety, OCD and addictive behaviours. When treating issues surrounding behaviour, we help our clients to understand the physiological and psychological roots of these behaviours so they can begin to actively work towards altering these chemical and neuronal responses within the brain.

Clients who come in with trauma and PTSD presentations often have other issues running alongside such as anxiety, periods of depression, anger outbursts and addictive behaviours. Whilst we cannot make you forget what has caused the trauma, your therapist can certainly help you understand better why it has affected you so much, what is going on in your brain when you have issues surrounding this trauma, and what we can do to reduce the impact these have on you so you can live a fulfilling life.

Compulsive behaviours are one of the most challenging issues to treat with conventional therapies with many of the sufferers being told that they cannot be helped. Here we firmly believe that no issues is insurmountable, and we have had great success in reducing the severity of sufferers behaviours and the impact these behaviours have on everyday life. We help our clients to understand why they have developed the behaviours that they have by exploring the neurological basis of pattern building. Through this we can help our clients to reframe their thoughts about these actions and allow them to reprogram their brain to more healthy behaviours.

Addictions come in many forms, from an unhealthy relationship with food, to gambling, to shopping, to substance abuse. Despite the huge variation in the presentation of addiction it is all caused by the same thing - dopamine. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy works by giving our clients a deeper understanding of the causes of their addiction, the chemical roots of these and the various techniques we can use to reduce correct these chemicals so we can better control impulsive, addictive behaviours.

One of the symptoms of a chemical imbalance within the brain is issues with weight maintenance. Many of our clients present with issues surrounding eating habits (binge eating, not eating, eating the wrong things) and very few realise before they start with us how much of this is caused by their limbic system going haywire in response to events within their lives. We teach our clients about the neurological triggers of their behaviours and how to change this by changing how their brain processes these things into something more healthy. We explore the relationship between food, cortisol and dopamine and how our clients can lessen the hold these chemicals have on their eating habits.

One of the first things that get disturbed when we get stressed or depressed is sleep. We teach our clients how different issues such as depression and anxiety produce different neurological responses in our brain and how these either make us sleep all day, or lie awake all night, or both. Hypnosis works well to quieten the areas of the brain responsible for these negative behaviours and so we provide our clients with a recording to listen to each night to help them relax so they are producing melatonin more effectively. We help our clients work through those issues keeping them up at night and help them develop healthier bed time routines so they can get to sleep more easily.

One of the most common uses of Clinical Hypnotherapy is the treatment of pain, indeed it has been used successfully to anaesthetise patients during major surgeries such as amputation and brain surgery*. Chronic pain conditions can have a huge impact on our lives, they affect every element of our every day living and can be hugely debilitating. Chronic pain is so challenging to deal with because often the pain exists long after the physical cause has healed. Hypnotherapy can help pain sufferers to cope better as our clients learn how to actively shut off the pain gates in their nervous system so the signal stops travelling between injury site and brain.
